Leaders in Training (LIT) Program
The LIT program is designed for campers ages 14-15 who are registered for four weeks of camp and want to learn more about leadership at Falcon from a counselor perspective.
LITs will have the opportunity to shadow staff members, participate as a Counselor’s Assistant (CA) during one activity period per day, create/implement a rest hour activity for the Robins and Blue Jays as well as be a “cabin buddy” to a younger cabin of campers. All LITs process the above activities in four weekly 90-minute meetings to determine strengths and areas of improvement to develop a better sense of self.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do campers sign up for the LIT Program?
No application is necessary before the start of camp. We will announce sign-ups at formation. All four-week campers ages 14, 15, and 16 are welcome to attend. Campers must attend all meetings and complete the final activity in order to complete the LIT program.
The LIT program asks the participants to act as a role model not just in meetings but in all aspects of camp life. It is expected that all LITs are able to follow camp rules and guidelines. If not, he/she will be asked to leave the program.
As a parent, how will I know about my child’s experience in the LIT program?
At the end of the four-week session, each LIT will receive a certificate of completion with a self-evaluation, as well as an evaluation by the Assistant Director.
What if I have already done the LIT program a previous summer, can I participate again?
Absolutely. Though the foundation of the program stays the same, we adjust and accommodate the program with higher-level leadership skills as well as more involved participation in activity areas and cabins. Each year, LITs and the Assistant Director will work together to set personal leadership goals as well as identify areas of strength and improvement to focus on your individual growth.
