Leaders in Training
Ages 14–15
The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is a four-week training program designed for campers who are interested in learning more about leadership at Falcon Camp from a counselor perspective. It involves a series of four weekly, ninety-minute meetings. The LIT program is ideal for campers who are interested in the CIT program (but not required). No prior registration is required.
Counselors in Training
Age 16
The CIT program is a four week leadership training program designed for campers who have completed their sophomore year of high school. This program provides full immersion into the role of a counselor in both the activity areas and cabin. But this immersion is done under the supervision of older staff and Directors. CITs take a supporting, observatory role in cabins and activity areas.
Junior Staff
Age 17
The JC program is a paid staff position designed for campers who have demonstrated strong leadership skills in the CIT program, have prior camp experience, or excel in a program taught at Falcon. The JCs will be given increased roles of responsibility in activity areas and the cabin. JCs participate in weekly meetings to learn higher-level leadership strategies.
Senior Staff
Ages 18-25
This is a nine-week position in which you will serve as the head supervisor in the cabin and leader in your designated activity areas. Senior staff also serve as support to junior staff and campers in the CIT Program.
International Staff
Age 18-25
We happily welcome staff from around the world to join the Falcon family. While we cannot hire you directly (you are required to secure a J1 visa through a third-party agency), we are happy to help you through the process as much as we can.
Returning Staff
Age 18-25
Senior counselors who have already worked at Falcon Camp can easily reapply to be considered for another summer of learning and fun. We can’t wait to have you back!
Healthcare Staff
Falcon Camp nurses are responsible for the care and supervision of all medical services, as well as maintenance of the Health Center. This care includes looking after ill or injured campers or staff, administering medication, communication with parents and counselors, organization of medical information, medications and first-aid kits, as well as keeping records of camper visits.
Why Join the Falcon Family?
- Support – When you become part of the Falcon family, you’re never alone. Staff enjoy meals together, play games together, plan together, and ultimately build each other up for a successful summer. An encouraging chat or helpful guidance is never far away. These are the people you’ll remember for life!
- Relationship Building – A summer job at Falcon Camp connects you with people from all over the country—and even the world! So many of our counselors consider our camp a home away from home, and we hope that you’ll want to return every year to reconnect with your new family.
- Personal Development – Fun for now, skills for life! It’s not just a job, it’s a roadmap to the future. Working at Falcon Camp teaches you skills that you’ll carry with you for life, and that you can use in your future career. Establishing yourself as a leader to your campers, planning activities, and teaching new skills are just a few of the very rewarding things you’ll get to do here. Grow your communication skills, problem solving skills, empathy, responsibility, and confidence.
- Immersed in Nature – There’s no other summer job where you get to truly feel like a little kid again. You get a chance to disconnect from your phone, computer, and TV and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Set along Leesville Lake, Falcon Camp offers that traditional lakeside camp experience with plenty of hiking, swimming, and just pure fun!
- Value in Helping Others – As a camp counselor, you can make the difference between an okay summer and a fantastic summer experience at Falcon Camp. When a camper is sad or homesick, you could offer that comforting hug or pep talk. When a camper is afraid to try something new, you can show them the way and open up their world to new things. By the end of the summer, you’ll be so glad you took a chance on this opportunity.

“It's not a job, it's a desire. It's not work, it's a passion. I don't 'deal' with campers, I change the future. I don't go home, I leave it." —Camp Counselor
