A Week at ACA
Last week, several of our admin team spent the week in New Orleans attending two conferences. Monday and Tuesday was CODA, or the Camp Owners and Directors Association. The second was for the ACA, or the American Camp Association (the ACA is the organization through which we are accredited). Both offered some valuable sessions and networking opportunities, especially to learn how other camps work!
Nici, Dave, Jackie, and Lynne attended sessions on ChatGPT at camp, LGBTQIA2S+ issues, wellness innovations, staff burnout, and so much more! We value conferences like these for multiple reasons. First, it’s wonderful to see old colleagues, meet new camping professionals, and exchange ideas. We love to learn about how other camps handle different things. Second, we are always looking for ways to make Falcon better. We think we are pretty darn good, but there is always room to grow! Third, we get to see each other in person! Since we live all over the country, this is a great opportunity to talk about some new program plans, decide about changes, and generally get excited for summer!!
