How Does Summer Camp Work?
Summer camp is a great opportunity to open up your child or young teen to new experiences and help them make new friends. Choosing a camp like Falcon Camp with plenty of activity offerings means that your child will get an out-of-the-ordinary experience that definitely tops playing video games in a dark room for hours on end. Let’s take a closer look at how exactly summer camp works (at least how it works at Falcon Camp!).
Your First Day at Summer Camp
The first day of summer camp is probably what you’d expect it to be—a lot of introductory activities and getting your bearings around the camp. You’ll arrive on a Sunday afternoon at the Lodge where you’ll meet Dave, Nici, the nurse, and some other great people. From there you’ll get to see your cabin, unload your stuff, and meet the others who you’ll be staying with.

How Long Does Summer Camp Last?
Summer camp session lengths are based on age and preference. Our Young Adventure Program for campers ages six to 10 is just one week long as a way to ease young ones into the summer camp experience. Our traditional program is for a two, four, six or eight week session and can include all campers ages six to 16.

What and When Will My Child Eat at Camp?
We can’t speak for other camps, but at Falcon Camp, we serve our campers restaurant-quality food. Our head cook has been with us for years and takes great pride in serving our campers delicious and nutritious meals that they actually enjoy.
All campers eat in the dining hall at the same time, and we eat family-style by cabin… You’ll never be left to eat alone! There are always plenty of food options that we think you’ll love, including a vegetarian option and an extensive salad bar. But that’s not all there is to enjoy in the dining hall! Your meal times will be full of fun and laughter. We always find ways to make eating together a great time, from singing songs to telling stories and jokes.
Where Will My Child Sleep at Camp?
Your child will sleep in a cabin with kids in the same age group and two to four counselors. Each camper shares a wooden bunk bed and shelves to organize their belongings. Campers get the real woodsy camp feel as cabins do not have glass windows, just screens to keep bugs out! Bath houses are just a short walk right next door to the cabins for super easy access.
What Will My Child Do at Camp?
Summer camp at Falcon gives young ones and teens the opportunity to figure out what they love doing during the four activity periods of each day. Activities include riflery, tennis, swimming, drama, and more. We also host big games on the weekends and fun activities after dinner so there’s never a dull moment at Falcon Camp.
