WHY TYPE OF RIDING DO YOU TEACH?

The majority of our campers prefer hunt seat. We do address western and some dressage.

WHAT SKILL LEVEL DO I NEED TO ATTEND CAMP?

Falcon Horse Lover Camp requires a minimum amount of horse experience. Campers who LOVE horses will adore this camp. Every camper literally eats, sleeps, and breathes their 4-legged friend for a week. This is not LIKE horses camp but a LOVES horses camp.

WHAT IF I NEED MEDICATION WHILE AT CAMP?

Some campers do need to have medicine while at camp. Falcon's qualified staff controls all medicine concerns.

DO I ACTUALLY GET MY OWN HORSE?

Campers are assigned their own animal. Under adult supervision all aspects of owning a horse are completed by the camper. Examples of this include stall duties, feeding, and tacking.

This camp is designed as an introduction for a motivated camper that wants the experience of "owning" their own horse.

CAN I BRING MY OWN SADDLE?

All tack is provided. Our campers are welcome to but not required to bring their own saddle, proper adjustment is made for fitting their "own" horse.

CAN I BRING MY OWN HORSE?

The majority of our campers do not own their own horses. Campers who do own a horse can make arrangements to have their animal join them.

HOW MUCH ACTUAL TIME WOULD I SPEND RIDING?

There is a daily lesson in the morning and afternoon with potential riding in the evening based on the lesson being covered.

CAN I COME FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK?

The horse camper will receive an education/training every day they attend camp. The camp has girls who prefer to stay more than one week.

WILL I GET TO JUMP WHILE I AM AT CAMP?

Jumping is a scheduled activity. From ground poles to cross rails or to low jump courses, these can be covered while attending horse camp. It is not required to participate in our over fences lessons. The campers are encouraged to come, listen and watch the jumping lessons so they are still involved.

WHERE DO HORSE CAMPERS SLEEP?

Horse campers sleep in our girls unit. The cabins have five sets of bunk beds. Our horse camp staff lives in the same cabin. The bathrooms are housed under the same roof a short distance away.

CAN I ATTEND HORSE CAMP AND REGULAR CAMP?

Campers sometime attend both our traditional overnight camp and horse camp. Adjustments are made to accommodate you as long as room is available.

WHAT KIND OF HORSES DOES FALCON HAVE?

Falcon's herd tops 35 horses. The camps owns a variety of breeds, which include Thoroughbred, Quarter horse, Paints and Arabs. Since Falcon owns their own horses any adjustment can be made to make sure each camper has the perfect mount during their camp stay.

HOW MANY CAMPERS ARE THERE?

The program is limited to 10 campers per week, thus maximizing the individual attention each camper receives.

HOW MUCH WORK AM I REQUIRED TO DO?

Horse campers are required to do physical work. Theirs horses will need to be fed, hayed, watered, and groomed. Each camper will need to muck out their animals stalls.

DO I GET TO DO ANYTHING BUT RIDE?

The only non-horse activity is swimming once a day.

WHAT DOES CAMP COST?

A one week session is $950. This includes meals, housing, a Falcon Horse Lover Camp t-shirt, and an individual video. There is also a $10 camp store fee.
